A Note from the Owner

 I created this site for people who love their chickens and do not want other chickens abused, such as commercial laying hens and male chicks that are used in commercial egg production.I also wanted to provide a safe place for people to bring unwanted, abandoned, injured or abused chickens, turkeys, ducks, and rabbits. If more people were aware of the horrifying abuse and neglect that these poor creatures that God created, suffer. I believe they would do everything they could to stop it. I am not advocating that you turn vegetarian, that is your choice. I am advocating that you make an educated choice when you choose which product to buy when you are in the store.

• Think About This....

Do you really wish to eat or feed your family an egg that was laid in a diseased, filthy, insect infested bacteria loaded environment?

• Do you know what happens to the hen's that are considered 'spent'? 
  

They are often sent to dog food and baby food processing plants! These hen's are mercilessly thrown into trash cans still alive or kicked into huge manure pits to die! The hen's are transported in trucks with no food, water or protection from the elements. The 'spent' hens who live long enough to make it to the slaughter houses are stunned to paralyze them. This stunning procedure does not kill pain. They are alive and alert when they reach the neck cutting blades to get their throats slit! Many of them are still alive and able to feel pain when they are dipped into boiling hot water to remove their feathers. 

• Think about Battery Hens & their Eggs 

Commercial battery hen's are loaded with infection, bacterial diseases and insect infestations...Do you really want to feed them or their eggs to your family?

• Think about Raising Chickens Yourself 

You could raise a few chickens in your own back yard and get enough eggs for your family to eat or you can buy you're eggs from other people who raise them and treat them in a humane way, allowing a healthier environment for the chicken which results in a healthier egg for you to eat.

Most commercial egg and meat chicken provider's do not care they are just trying to make the most money that they can and really could care less if the chickens are overcrowded, abused, neglected or not. The fact still remains. Chickens raised in nasty conditions will produce a nasty product. Common sense tells us that.
